IT’S THAT EASY!

Did You Know? I am also a Certified Clinical Herbalist (CCH) and Certified Chiropractic Assistant (CA). Please ask if you would like to know more about these other services.

Q. When can I make my massage appointment?

A. You can make your appointment as soon as you are ready by contacting me via phone (no texting, please) or email. Appointments are available Monday - Friday, between the hours of 9:00 am - 7:00 pm. Most Saturdays during the summer you can find me at the Corvallis Artisan Market on 1st and Monroe, from 9 am - 1 pm. (Call to make sure I am there first!) I schedule afternoon and early evening clients from 10 - 4 pm on Saturdays or by appointment during the rest of the year. I can see clients of record with acute care needs / emergency issues on Sundays but by special appointment only.

For outcall table and/or outcall chair massage I am able to travel to the greater Albany and Corvallis area, Monday - Friday and some Saturdays. I may also be able to schedule selected Sundays. Please inquire for more details and availability.

Q. Is an appointment required?

A. Yes, scheduling an appointment is required. You are welcome to ask for a same-day massage, however, making your appointment at least 24 hours in advance will help ensure you get the day and time you prefer. Appointments help you get the massage you want when you want it. To make an appointment, please call 541.344.7534 or email me at givingtree@earthlink.net.

If I am not available to take your call, please leave a brief message with your phone number and the best time to reach you when you call. You may also leave your preferred date and time for your massage when you call or email. You must make your appointment by phone or email, or by text message. I will get back to you ASAP to confirm your appointment.

Q. What are your rates?

Please see my “Massage Rates” page for that information

Q. What forms of payment do you accept?

A. I take cash, checks, or credit cards online at my “Massage Rates” page. Please make your check out to Lawrence Birch or just "GivingTree."

Q. Are there any other fees for the massage?

A. No, but because massage is a service, it's customary to show the level of your appreciation for the massage you've received by tipping your therapist. While tips are not mandatory nor expected, they are appreciated and can range anywhere from 10% - 40% of the regular massage fee. The biggest tip I ever received in my working life was $1,000, --but that's a long story!

Appointments and Cancellations

Appointments

An appointment is the best way to guarantee you will receive my massage therapy service when you want it. Often, if I am not with a client in my office, I will be out in the lobby of 425 Madison offering chair massage. While I encourage you to make a chair massage appointment, drop-ins are welcome, too!

New clients

Please make your appointment either by telephone at 541.344.7534 or email at givingtree@earthlink.net. Please leave a message with your phone number and the best time to reach you when you call. You may also tell me your requested date and time for your massage when you call or email and I will get back to you ASAP to confirm your appointment. Please note: until you receive your confirmation notice by phone or email from Lawrence of GivingTree Massage, your appointment is not valid.

New clients are urged to arrive approximately 5 - 10 minutes early for their appointment to complete required paperwork if you cannot print and fill out the new client intake form ahead of time.

I allow for approximately 10 - 15 minutes of intake time, not including your massage table time, which is always the time that you pay for. Some intakes may take much longer due to your health issues or other concerns. I reserve the right to add a nominal fee to intakes that go over 15 minutes. This fee may be as low as $5 or as much as $125 depending on how much time we spend discussing your issues. Please let me know ahead of time if you cannot afford or do not agree to these potential charges so we can make other arrangements that work for both of us, thank you.

PLEASE NOTE: Failure to arrive early for your first session to complete paperwork may result in less table time for you but you will still be charged for your fully scheduled session. Also, if you are going to be late to your appointment, please let me know! It may still work out for you to enjoy your full massage depending on my schedule. However, please realize that your massage may need to be shortened due to time constraints. I do everything reasonable to accommodate my clients, but when I have a busy schedule, my flexibility is limited.

Cancellations and No Shows

Prevent getting charged or having your gift certificate invalidated by canceling your appointment at least 24 hours in advance.

Failure to provide 24 hours notice, by phone (not text) or email constitutes a "No Show".

A No Show may invalidate the gift certificate or coupon meant to be used for the massage therapy session.

A No Show may result in a charge for a full session on pre-paid accounts.

Future appointments after a No Show may require payment of a missed visit fee ($35) and prepayment of the next massage therapy session.

The sooner I know you need to cancel or reschedule your massage, the easier it is for me to find you a new appointment. Canceling with advance notice also gives me an opportunity to schedule a client in your place. Every client is important to me! I do understand that things happen, however, please respect my time and energy by keeping your appointment or rescheduling it well ahead of time, thank you.

Q. Why might I be charged a fee for missing a massage appointment?

If I have scheduled your massage and then you do not inform me at least 24 hours in advance that you are canceling your appointment, I may not be able to schedule another client to take your place. I do understand that things happen and I will try to work with you if events overtake your appointment, however, a late-canceled appointment is time wasted and money I may not get back. Also, if I have confirmed and scheduled your appointment with you, I assume that you have it on your calendar. Please don't forget about it! Contact me to reschedule you to prevent a possible no-show fee.

Q. What if I'm late for my massage appointment?

A. My massages are a full 30/60 / 90 / 120 minutes on the table. To provide a comfortable buffer between my clients, I generally schedule my one-hour appointments in one-and-a-half-hour blocks, and my one-and-a-half-hour massages in two-hour blocks, etc. Please plan to arrive at least five - ten minutes early to fill out your intake form and to ask any questions. Out of courtesy to my next client, if you are late you will receive only the amount of time left for your appointment.

Q. Is it difficult to get an appointment? Are some times more available than others?

A. No, it's not hard to get an appointment if you can be flexible. Some times and days are more popular than others, of course, and are harder to get unless you plan ahead. For instance, morning appointments and appointments right after work are popular and harder to get - you may have to schedule those times two weeks or more in advance. When it's available, Saturday is a popular day and you may need to schedule well ahead of time.

Q. Can I get a same-day table massage appointment?

A. It's possible but unlikely. If it's available, I'll get you on the schedule when you call/email but it's rare that same day appointments are always available. However, you are certainly welcome to ask, since I may have a cancellation.

Q. I called for an appointment but just got your voicemail, now what?

A. I may be unavailable or with a client and unable to return your call right away. Please be patient, you are important to me! Leave your message on my voicemail with your name and phone number, the best time to return your call, and the best time & day for your massage. Your call matters to me and I will return all calls in the order they are received ASAP.

Q. Can I schedule two massages, one for me and one for a friend, back-to-back?

A. Yes, as long as you can be flexible with the date and time since consecutive, two hour blocks of time can sometimes be challenging to schedule. I am happy to accommodate my client's needs and I love giving you want you want whenever it is reasonable to do so, so please ask.

Q. Do you offer any other services?

A. Yes! As a Certified Clinical Herbalist, I am qualified to consult with and educate clients about their health concerns. Please understand that while I cannot diagnose a condition, I can educate you about your options. I have a fully-stocked herbal apothecary with over 200 herbs in tea and tincture form at reasonable prices and of the finest quality.

All of my tinctures are made by me and most of the herbs in them were wildcrafted (gathered in their natural growing state) or grown organically by me, personally, ensuring their quality and effectiveness. I have a delicious selection of hard-to-find healing Chinese Tonic tea herbs as well as a large selection of potent medicinal tea herbs.

My fee for herbal consults is a sliding scale based on your ability to pay: $35 - $125 / hour. If you are interested in having an herbal health consultation, signing up for a class or purchasing one of my fine herbal products, call or email to make an appointment.

Q. Do you have any incentives for me to schedule another massage with you?

A. Of course I hope to make your massage so enjoyable that you will want to schedule with me regularly.

To make getting another massage even more appealing, I can offer you a 20% discount off the price of my regular massage to first-time clients when you pre-pay at the time of scheduling.

If you convince a friend or family member to come in and they mention that they came in because of you, I will be happy to give you a 20% discount off of your next massage.

Also, if you schedule another massage with me directly after your massage session and prepay at the time of scheduling with cash or check, or credit card, you are welcome to take off 10%. Please ask for your "prepaid appointment" discount.

And finally, I offer multiple massage discounts for clients who can afford to schedule and pay for three or more massages in advance. Please inquire to make arrangements for regular, multiple, pre-paid massage appointments.

If you have more questions that you don't see answered here, please don't hesitate to call or email me!

Thanks, and see you soon!
